Touch rugby and transferring homes take up most of Andy Liu’s time. The real estate agent found space to join North Harbour Club’s NeXt Leaders membership last year however, and hasn’t looked back.
“I had a friend from university that won an AIMES award,” says Andy. “I decided to join NeXt last year after attending a few events and meeting the awesome people involved with the North Harbour Club. Erin and Jodie don’t take no for an answer either!”
Being a part of a locally focused organisation, that brings together and supports young people with a positive purpose spoke to Andy’s values. He says, “I chose to get involved as I love the North Shore and truly believe in the North Harbour Club’s vision. I love playing a small part in supporting the excellent young people in our community.”
Having lived in Okura since 2005, Andy is passionate about the area. “I love the blend of country and coastal lifestyle while being a short drive away from everything else that we’re lucky enough to have on the Shore.”
He is based at the B:Hive, as a real estate agent for Harcourts Cooper & Co, and previously attended Kristin School and, prior to that, Browns Bay Primary.
The many North Harbour Club events put on for the NeXt group, and wider club, appeal to Andy’s sense of connection and fun. “I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a few events already - it’s hard to pick a favourite. Lawn Bowls was a laugh though!
“I’m looking forward to the Lexus Long Lunch with Gilbert Enoka and Ian Jones in late April, and the NeXt Believe it Or Not Quiz Night.”
And if Andy was to have won an AIMES Award, which category would it likely to have been and why?
“Service to the Community. I love supporting the Touch North Harbour community and being involved at competitions and events across the Harbour region. I’m currently involved as a board member, coach, and referee.”
